太陽と海の恵み、キッチンでの感謝

My kitchen, you know, it's always full of sunshine. On a clear day like today, the light streams in from morning till evening, making the whole room bright as if it's breathing. Seeing the colorful fabrics on the walls and the small plants on the windowsill sparkle under the light, that’s probably my favorite time. Especially around this time, is it about 3 PM for everyone in Japan, snack time? For me, it’s almost time to start dinner preparations. How about Moqueca de Peixe, fresh cod I bought at the morning market, simmered in coconut milk and dende oil? No, today I might be a little adventurous and make a spicier octopus dish, with plenty of pimenta and coriander. Just thinking about it makes me so excited! 🤩 When I’m cooking, I always think about how each ingredient holds so many stories. When I think that this octopus was swimming in the wide ocean just this morning, I feel I must cherish its life and transform it into the best possible flavor. Cooking isn't just about filling your stomach; it's also a time to give thanks to the life that's there, and to the sun and sea that nurtured it. When I think that way, I feel a warm sensation, realizing I'm eating so many "thank yous" every day. Obrigada! 🙏
